Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language comedy horror film directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt. It is the sequel to the 2018 film Stree and the fourth installment in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The film stars Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
Plot Summary:
After the events of the first film, Stree leaves Chanderi, and the town installs a statue of her in the center. Years later, a new malevolent entity named Sarkata, a headless ghost, begins abducting women at night. The townspeople, unaware of this, mistakenly believe the women have left for better prospects.
Rudra (Pankaj Tripathi) receives an anonymous letter containing missing pages from Chanderi Puran, which warn about Sarkata's arrival. He reunites with Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Bittu (Aparshakti Khurana) to decipher the warnings and find a way to protect the town. They realize that they need to call back Stree to combat Sarkata.
The climax involves a trap set to lure Sarkata out, a dance performance by Shama (Tamannaah Bhatia), and a final showdown where Vicky, Rudra, Bittu, and the mysterious woman (Shraddha Kapoor) work together to defeat Sarkata. The mysterious woman sacrifices herself, revealing she is the original Stree. With the help of Bhediya (Varun Dhawan), they manage to kill Sarkata.
